Specifications include, but are not limited to: purchase UVC Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation Systems to be customer installed in HVAC equipment at 23 City-owned facilities. The proposed UVC system shall be designed to control the proliferation of microorganisms in the HVAC systems, reduce maintenance requirements, eliminate odors, and improve system performance. Additionally, the UVC system shall be designed to provide microbial disinfection of air handling components, prevent the dissemination of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and inhibit the growth of fungi and bacteria on the AHU cooling coil. It is intended that all UVC systems be provided by a single manufacturer for standardization of installation, maintenance, and replacement parts.
