The Scranton School District is requesting proposals for the replacement of interior doors at West Scranton High School. The project includes removal of existing doors and frames, installation of new hollow metal doors with hinge-side lights, commercial-grade hardware keyed to District standards, and specified security devices including Nightlock Lockdown 2 Door Barricades and Nightlock Lockdown Shades. All materials and work must meet applicable codes. Unit pricing is required for each door size to allow for potential project expansion. Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1. Demolition and Removal • Contractor shall remove and dispose of all existing interior doors, hardware, and frames included in this project scope. • All demolition activities must be conducted in a manner that minimizes disruption to building occupants and preserves adjacent finishes and structures. • Work areas shall be cleaned and cleared of all debris at the end of each workday. 3.2. New Door and Frame Installation • Furnish and install new hollow metal doors with hinge-side vision lights (windows) at each specified location. • Furnish and install corresponding hollow metal frames, fire-rated as required. • Doors and frames must be heavy-duty, commercial-grade, and shall meet or exceed specifications for school environments, including durability, impact resistance, and finish quality. • All doors and frames must meet local, state, and federal building codes, including ADA and NFPA compliance. • Doors shall be factory prepped for hardware and vision light inserts. 3.3. Door Hardware Installation • Provide and install all required commercial-grade hardware, including: o Heavy-duty hinges o ADA-compliant lever handles o Closers o Locks and cylinders o Kick plates and stops as applicable • All hardware shall be consistent with Scranton School District’s keying system, which will be provided to the awarded contractor. • Hardware must be installed per the manufacturer's specifications and tested for proper function upon completion.
