The University will also utilize the new wireless system as the campus standard for the future replacement of our legacy wireless system. System requirements are as follows: 1) Key Management: WPA2 802.1X (Enterprise) 2) Encryption: CCMP (AES) 3) Client load balancing and band select (including roaming decisions based on client count, bandwidth usage, channel utilization, interference, etc) 4) AAA override for role based VLAN assignment 5) 802.11a/b/g/n/ac 2.4 and 5.0 GHz 6) 10/100/1000BASE-T switch port connectivity 7) Integrated or external omnidirectional and directional antenna options 8) High Availability. HA OnPrem Controller-Based or Controller-Less. Clarion operates two data centers on the Clarion Campus (Becht Hall and Still Hall). The system should be designed and configured to leverage each of these locations for high availability purposes For on-prem controller models, Clarion University has capacity within our Virtualization Infrastructure to support VM-based controllers. Clarion utilizes VMware ESXi 6.5 as its virtualization technology. This infrastructure is present in the Still Hall and Becht Hall data centers. Clarion will be responsible for providing all compute and storage equipment needed to support these virtual servers Hardware based controllers are also acceptable. 9) AP must support MIMO and at least 3 spatial streams 10) Radio Resource Management 11) Rogue AP, interference, and other security event detection 12) Location Aware WLAN – Used to locate devices using signal strength on three or more surrounding access points.
