Specifications include, but are not limited to: The current Amtrak Police Department (APD) facilities in Lancaster, Pennsylvania are not large enough and are improperly configured for existing and future needs. Amtrak will hire a contractor to renovate an existing shell space (approximately 2500 square feet) located on the ground floor of Lancaster Station for the relocation of the existing APD forces. Design highlights include: raised floor system to allow ADA access; protection of existing historic door at detainee entrance; replacement of existing APD desk at concourse level; review of products for ballistic rating; and compartmentalized layout of police suite separating daily operations from detention programming. The contractor work will include: Demolition and removal of debris Plumbing work Installation of new HVAC Installation of ramped flooring Installation of holding cells Installation of sprinkler system
