The scope of work generally includes construction to rehabilitate the Aspinwall Pump Station, construction of the Clearwell Bypass, and construction of the new Bruecken Pump Station and all phases of process-mechanical, structural, architectural, civil and site work, site piping, and all associated work not specifically assigned to another contract. The rehabilitation of the Aspinwall Pump Station includes, but is not limited to, installing four new horizonal split case pumps in generally the same location as the existing pumps, demolition of the existing fluoride building, garage, and orthophosphate system, construction of the new chemical building which would house the new orthophosphate and fluoride treatment system, stormwater system improvements with its associated yard piping system, and all associated piping and appurtenances associated with the work to rehab the Aspinwall Pump Station. The pumps would be replaced sequentially to maximize the station’s available capacity during construction. The demolition of the existing orthophosphate and fluoride system will be executed in such a sequence without any outage of the chemicals injection to the filtered water. The improvement work of the Aspinwall Pump Station also includes converting the trade shop area to two-story open office space. The construction of the new Clearwell Bypass includes, but is not limited to, construction of a 144-inch bypass and an 84-inch bypass along the south embankment of the existing Clearwell, construction of an overflow structure and three bypass vaults, construction of connections to the existing inlet and outlet gatehouse, and all ancillary work associated with the construction of the Clearwell Bypass. The construction of the new Bruecken Pump Station includes, but is not limited to, demolition of the existing garage, construction of the new three-story pump station which would house six new vertical turbine pumping units with an integral wet well, construction of new orthophosphate building, construction of large diameter piping, valves, vaults, and all ancillary work associated with the construction of the new pump station.
