Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Excellent representation of the City of Philadelphia before the Heart & Lung Panel, Civil Service Commission, Board of Pensions, Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and/or all related appellate tribunals in matters relative to Employee Disability. • Strict adherence to the City’s Litigation and Billing Guidelines • Efficient resolution of matters minimizing overall cost and impact to the City • Prompt, timely and thorough reporting on all events • Practicing approaches that promptly and cost-effectively limit the City’s liabilities in all forums. • Coordination with all successful applicants to create a unified City of Philadelphia presence in all litigation forums • Proper preparation for all events to obtain the best possible result for the City at the earliest possible stage of litigation Thorough investigation of all claims and claimants • Attendance at all hearings, oral arguments, mediations, depositions and/or settlement conferences • Early identification of litigation strategy and recommendations for litigation strategy including resolution with a focus on strategies that limit cost exposures • Regular communication with the Employee Disability Unit and Third-Party Administrator in order to prepare and coordinate the most effective representation
