Specifications include, but are not limited to: Review investigative information, notes and preliminary findings of forensic pathologists, and medical records in cases referred for neuropathologic examination, Perform gross examinations of brains and spinal cords to identify and describe evidence of disease and/or injury Determine the need for microscopic examinations to further demonstrate or clarify evidence of disease and/or injury, and performing such examinations as needed Prepare written reports of gross and microscopic examinations which adequately document and describe the findings of these examinations; final signed reports must be submitted within two weeks of performing gross examinations or receiving microscopic slides Discuss final diagnoses and interpretation of cases with forensic pathologists, attorneys, and other parties as necessary.
