Specifications include, but are not limited to: E-WASTE Awarded Seller shall provide all of the personnel, expertise, equipment and other capabilities to receive electronic waste and to sanitize, analyze, inventory, manifest, package, transport, store, and properly manage the collected wastes in accordance with “R2” or “e-Stewards” certification, federal and state requirements for protecting the confidentiality of sensitive information, all applicable state and federal rules and regulations, as well as the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection policy on electronic waste disposal. 2.2.1 All City Departments and agencies are able to use this contract resulting in the pick-up of material from the Department requesting service. There will be approximately 40 locations within the limits of the City of Philadelphia. Items scheduled for pick-up not located on 1st floor level shall incur an additional cost as listed in paragraph 2.4.2.12. 2.2.2 For the purpose of the contract, the following definitions apply: “Recycling” includes the salvaging of clean and uncontaminated metals, plastics, glass, and paper for use as raw materials for an industrial process; salvaging of precious metals via separation and shipment to a precious metals recycler; salvaging of uncontaminated electronic or mechanical components for re-use in their original function; and the salvaging of any potentially leachable materials/components (including the Cathode Ray Tubes (CRTs) that are sent to specialty recycling facilities for additional recycling or other beneficial use. “De-manufacture” means to disassemble electronic devices into their original components for recycling. “Media sanitization” means the process used and the actions taken to remove information from information system media such that the information cannot be retrieved or reconstructed by any means. Sanitization techniques, including clearing information, purging information, and destroying media, are designed to prevent the disclosure of the information to unauthorized individuals when such media is reused, recycled, or disposed of.
