10.0 Details of Work Whether stated or not the essence of this contract is to provide a complete refinishing or recoating of the District’s gym, stage, and other wood floors. This project consists of the following items of work: 1. Schedule all work with the Property Services Manager prior to commencing any work. 2. Report to the building maintenance operator or building principal before any work is started. 3. Report to the Principal only if the maintenance operator is unavailable. 4. The Contractor will put down only those lines as directed by the Property Services Manager, using the most current regulations (where applicable). 5. The Contractor must prepare the existing floors by all means recommended by the Manufacturer. 6. The Contractor must make the Property Services Manager aware of any conditions that require repair prior to the repair being made. 10.1 Gym – Sand and Refinish The following applies to spaces specified for complete sanding and refinishing. Reference the Proposal Form for additional information. 1. The entire court shall be sanded, all dead spots reasonably identified repaired, and all other damaged areas visually observed, repaired. 2. The basis of design is based on products manufactured by Hillyard, Inc. Products manufactured by Bona will be considered pending compliance with the specifications. No other manufacturers will be considered. 3. The products and techniques to be used for a refinish shall be Court Guard and 350 Gym Finish System, Four (4) Coat System; a. 1st Coat - Court Guard # HIL0033472 b. 2nd Coat - Court Guard # HIL0033472 c. Paint lines, letter, and areas with gym line marking paints d. 3rd Coat - Court Guard # HIL0033472 e. 4th Coat - #350 Gym finish for wood floors 4. Contractors must certify that they have been factory trained, authorized, and experienced in repairing & refinishing wood gym flooring. 5. All painting, letters, works, lines and staining shall be approved prior to the final finish. 6. Contractor must include in price cost to repair existing damage and keep further cracking / splitting of ends as part of the proposal. 7. All painting, letters, works, lines and staining shall be approved prior to the final finish. 10.2 Gym Areas – Wet Scrub/Screen and Recoat The following applies to spaces specified for complete Dry Screen and Recoating. Reference Proposal Form for additional information. The contractor shall dry screen and recoat all floor surfaces as indicated on the Schedule. 1. The entire court or stage shall be wet scrubbed and screened, all dead spots repaired, and all other repairs made. 2. Vacuum and tack to prepare for coating. 3. Touch up all game lines. 4. Apply (1) coat of Hillyard 350 Gym Finish.
