DIVISION 100 - GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
110. Scope of Contract
The intent of this solicitation and any resulting contract is to obtain Mowing / “Brushhawging” of approximately 225.4 acres located in different areas on the Bradford and Marienville Ranger Districts, in McKean, Warren, Forest and Elk Counties, Pennsylvania.
Mowing will occur on days when conditions are adequate so that no excessive soil erosion, rutting or other environmental site damage will occur.
120. Location and Description of Project Areas
Maps of each area are included in Appendix A.
Note: Opening acres are approximate and may change due to substitution, deletion, environmental conditions, and field conditions.
Accessibility - Forest Service System Roads are marked with a sign-post or some other sign marking next to the road. If the road is not marked with a sign-post, it is a Non-Forest System Road and permission from the owner will be required by the contractor to access the road. A list of owners can be provided after award of contract. The use of any vehicles will be subject to conditions of the Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) September 30, 2016. The MVUM shows which roads, trails and areas of the National Forest that are designated for motor vehicle use pursuant to 36 CFR 212.51. Use outside of the MVUM designations is not permitted unless written permission is granted by the COR.
Accessibility to specific sites may require some off-road use that is narrow with no road surface. It may also require removal and restoration of barricades to access sites by the contractor. Contractor needs to supply the equipment to adequately access these openings while meeting the intent of specifications in the contract.
