Through this RFA process, the Pennsylvania Department of Health (Department) is soliciting healthcare provider and care team education delivery service applications for the SUD and Safe Prescribing Training Initiative. The Department is interested in funding one application addressing the delivery of synchronous education sessions to healthcare providers and care teams using Department-provided education materials to increase effective and safe controlled substance prescribing and linkage to treatment for SUD. The overall goal of this funding is to promote best practices on topics including but not limited to screening, diagnosis, and linkage to care for opioid use disorder and stimulant use disorder, treatment for acute, subacute, and chronic pain including opioid prescribing and screening, diagnosis, and linkage to care for SUDs, existing large-scale, national mentorship programs for substance use disorder care for technical assistance and peer support, and information on SUD care options with a focus on addressing inequities in access to care options. Education sessions shall also support implementation of the 2022 CDC Clinical Practice Guidelines for Prescribing Opioids.
