The scope of work includes selective demolition of all building components of building 2728 Bedford Avenue down to existing basement slab and foundation level, while retaining and stabilizing shared party wall between building 2728 and 2726 Bedford Avenue. Work shall be executed by hand and with light mechanical means, following bracing and temporary wall sheathing installation per Construction documents. 6.1.1. SEQUENCE OF WORK The contractor shall complete all required pre-demolition work, including rodent extermination, asbestos abatement, and tree removal, followed by interior demolition and cleanup at 2726 and 2728 Bedford Avenue. Work includes removing interior finishes, providing temporary shoring as needed, disconnecting or cutting back structural elements tied into the party wall, and adjusting electrical service as required. The contractor shall install necessary sheathing and bracing to the party wall to ensure stability during demolition. Demolition of 2728 will be completed in stages, with careful hand removal and salvage of brick where indicated, selective demolition of walls and structural components, and preservation of the existing sandstone foundation. After demolition, the contractor will stabilize the exposed party wall, install required sheathing, and construct temporary protection, including a curb and a framed roof over the remaining foundation cavity.
