Geisinger Medical Labs (“Geisinger”) provides laboratory services such as: general bloodwork, communicable disease panels, radiological services, and electrocardiogram tracing and reading for Commonwealth University, Bloomsburg Campus (the “University”) students. Currently, students are referred to Geisinger for these services that are not covered by student health fees for the on-campus Student Health Services Center or the existing Contract with Geisinger to provide the on-campus Student Health Services. Students currently pay Geisinger directly for these expenses at standard rates, which sometimes results in exponentially high bills. By the University establishing a new agreement with Geisinger in which Geisinger directly bills the University for the labs and related services, affordable services can be provided. Furthermore, students can walk across the street for services at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital or local Geisinger offices rather than having to obtain access to the services at a location which is difficult for students to get to.
