Specifications include, but are not limited to:Finapres devices (AD Instruments) are the result of over 30 years of research- and user-experiences in the study of continuous blood pressure regulation. Many renowned research institutes and prominent hospitals (NASA, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, and Mayo Clinic) currently use and trust Finapres equipment. The Finapres NOVA device is the best possible option for the Exercise Science Research Lab, as its technology is based on the most accurate and robust continuous non-invasive measurement of blood pressure and model-based computation of hemodynamics. Similar measurement devices do not have the absolute accuracy or decades of research and development characteristic of the Finapres name. Further, the Finapres system will integrate with SunTech equipment that is currently a standard model in the ESRL. Other similar devices will not integrate with SunTech, and would require additional purchases for compatibility. Overall, the purchase of Finapres NOVA will enhance the measurement capability of the lab, and allow student and faculty researchers to advance future understanding of blood pressure regulation.
