This project is for the replacement of an existing structure on STATE ROUTE 4002, SECTION D52 in MEHOOPANY TOWNSHIP, WYOMING COUNTY, in the COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA.The project is located along SR 4002 at the structure over Little Mehoopany Creek from Segment 0170 Offset 1244 to Segment 0180 Offset 0466 with an overall length 1000'(0.189 mi).The proposed work is to replace the State Route 4002 Section D52 bridge over Little Mehoopany Creek in Mehoopany Township, Wyoming County. The existing structure is a reinforced concrete slab structure with cast in-place concrete abutments and a concrete lined channel erected in 1923. The proposed structure is a 9’-0’ x 21’-0” box culvert depressed 1’-0” into the streambed to allow a natural channel substrate to develop. The proposed structure will be realigned to match the existing stream channel and scour protection will be required in front of the footings due a high velocity flow of the creek. Roadway approach work, including shoulder widening and full depth shoulder pavement, will be needed due to the eroding existing roadway shoulders. A temporary one-lane roadway will be utilized to maintain traffic during construction.
