Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1 Rock salt shall be guaranteed to meet minimum sodium chloride specifications Type 1, Grade 1 as established by the American Association of State Highway Officials and the American Society for Testing Materials.; 2.2 Rock salt shall be guaranteed to meet screen specifications as established by the above organizations.; 2.3 Rock salt shall be treated with .0050% Prussiate of Soda or equal to prevent excessive hardening of storage pile.; 2.4 If available by the Contractor, colored dye shall be added to the bulk rock salt to enable the operator to verify the salt pattern being laid down upon the road surface.; 2.5 Moisture content shall not exceed three (3%) percent by weight for stockpile delivery.
