Specifications include, but are not limited to: PGW requires an independent consultant (one that does not represent any specific brand of barcode/RFID technology) to conduct an on-site assessment of PGW’s current warehouse and field inventory operations, make recommendations on the types of barcode and/or RFID systems that would best fit PGW’s needs, and identify requirements that should be included in a Request for Proposals for a new system. PGW uses Oracle E-Business Suite R12 as its ERP system for purchasing, inventory, and financials. PGW also uses several different work management systems that are not fully integrated with the Oracle ERP system. Warehouse functions, such as receiving, moving, storing, and issuing materials, are all manual and paper based. PGW does not currently have the ability to provide full tracking and traceability of inventory or other assets. Nine current PGW storerooms of various sizes will be consolidated into two warehouses over the next two years. A new 38,000 sf warehouse will be fully operational in the fall of 2023. The second 15,000 sf warehouse is planned for the summer of 2025. PGW is planning to procure a barcode/RFID system in early 2024.
