1. Curbing shall be constructed in a minimum of ten (10) foot lengths. A pre-molded bituminous impregnated expansion material having a minimum thickness of one-fourth inch (1/4") shall be placed between sections of curved curb and at intervals of not more than one hundred-twenty feet (120'). Intermediate joints between ten-foot (10') sections shall be formed of two (2) layers of single-ply bituminous paper. 2. Excavations will be made to the required depth, and the material upon which the curb is to be constructed shall be compacted to a firm, even surface, to ninety-five percent (95%) of the maximum dry weight density of the soil. Curb shall be installed on #57 stone with a minimum depth of 4”. 3. Curbing shall match existing curbs and shall match existing driveway depression and driveway paving where necessary. 4. Saw cutting of the roadway shall be 24” from the face of the curb and saw cutting of existing driveways shall be 24” from the back of the curb. 5. Driveway depressions shall be constructed with the full depth of concrete and/or with rebar reinforcement consisting of 2-#5 rebar. 6. See attached drawings for standard curb details.
