1. Pre-Demolition Activities The contractor shall be responsible for the following pre-demolition tasks for each structure: Conduct site visits and prepare individual demolition plans. Coordinate and confirm the disconnection of all utilities (electric, gas, water, sewer, phone, etc.) with the respective providers and obtain confirmation in writing. Perform hazard assessments for the presence of asbestos, lead-based paint, and other regulated materials; obtain proper abatement or removal, if required. Secure necessary demolition permits from local authorities, including the Borough of Renovo. Install appropriate erosion and sedimentation control measures as required by Pennsylvania DEP. 2. Demolition and Debris Removal Each structure shall be demolished in its entirety, including: Demolition and removal of all above-ground structures (e.g., homes, garages, sheds, porches, decks, stairs, fences, etc.). Removal of building foundations, basement walls, footers, sidewalks, driveways, and retaining walls unless otherwise directed. Crushing or removal of hardscape materials, including concrete or asphalt, in accordance with project specifications. Disposal of all demolition debris in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations at approved landfills or recycling centers. The contractor shall provide weight slips and manifests. 3. Site Restoration Following demolition, the contractor shall: Backfill all excavated areas, including basements or crawl spaces, with clean, compacted fill material. Grade each site to promote positive drainage and ensure the site is free of depressions or hazards. Apply a minimum of four (4) inches of topsoil, seed with grass seed appropriate for the season, and apply mulch or straw to stabilize the site. Restore all disturbed areas adjacent to the property to pre-demolition condition or better.
