2.1.1 Each portable commercial UHF FM transceiver shall provide for: a) Operational frequency range 450 through 480 MHz. b) Minimum thirty-two (32) operating channels. c) 12.5 KHz and 25 KHz channel spacing (narrow/wide-band operation) within the same code plug (program personality). d) LCD screen with programmable channels with prompts and instructions in the English language. e) Limited keypad (not full numeric keypad) to facilitate various programmable functions. f) Motorola MDC1200 encoding and decoding g) CTCSS and DCS signaling. h) Analog voice communication. i) Digital voice communication capable through software/firmware modification and/or upgrade. j) RF power output 4 Watt UHF as allowed by the FCC. 2.1.2 The transceivers shall meet or exceed applicable FCC Rules and Regulations and be Type Accepted for the FCC classification that is applicable for the intended service. (Typically, FCC Part 90) 2.1.3 The equipment shall be compliant with the tests set forth in: a. Packaging Test: MIL-STD 810D and E b. Dust and water intrusion: IP54, MIL-STD c. ESD: EC 61000-4-2 Level 3 d. Humidity: Per MIL STD e. Thermal Shock: Per MIL STD f. Storage Temperature: -40°C / +85°C (-40°F / +185°F) g. Operating Temperature: -30°C / +60°C (-22°F / +140°F)
