The Army Contracting Command (ACC) - Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Tobyhanna Division, is conducting this RFI in order to identify potential vendors that possess the capabilities to support the design and fabrication of lifting baskets and work bars. The quantity of the baskets and bars listed below:
TYAD’s quantity of baskets and work bars:
- 6ea - 8 foot baskets
- 1ea – Different variety of 8 foot basket
- 2ea - 4 foot baskets
- 6ea - 12 foot work bars
- 8ea - 8 foot work bars
Please refer to Objective below and attached DRAFT Performance Work Statement (PWS) for complete details.
Objectives: The contractor shall provide all necessary services as defined in the DRAFT PWS. This specification includes details for the design and fabrication of the new baskets and work bars. Used or remanufactured equipment is NOT acceptable. The contractor may use TYAD’s current supply of baskets and work bars as a outline for their design. TYAD possess technical drawings of the current equipment that the contractor may reference.
2. Application
Lifting baskets and the work bars are used in TYAD’s plating shop to dip metal into a variety of different liquids like water, acid, and other mixtures. Currently TYAD has baskets and work bars, but they are due to be replaced. The contractor may use the existing baskets and work bars as an outline for their own design. TYAD also has technical drawings of their existing equipment that they will share with interested contractors. The contractor will provide the following services during their design and fabrication.
- The Contractor will make a visit to TYAD to lay eyes on the equipment, take measurements, and listen to TYAD plating shop employees about desired design changes to the work bars and baskets.
- The contractor will design new work bars and baskets and include all desired design changes that are feasible and will not compromise the structural integrity of the equipment.
- The contractor will run stress calculations to determine what the load capacity of the equipment is.
- The contractor will have one final meeting with TYAD personal to inspect the design.
- The contractor will fabricate the equipment and TYAD personal will stress test the baskets and work bars as a quality check.
Delivery of the fabricated equipment shall be within 6 months of contract award.
The equipment furnished under this specification shall be warranted for parts and labor for a period of 1 year from the date of delivery.
The government is seeking to award a Firm-Fixed-Price Delivery Order under NAICS code 332510 Hardware Manufacturing.
All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the United States Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the United States Government. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to this RFI that indicate that the information therein is proprietary, or represents confidential business information, will be received, and held in confidence. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. Please note, if a solicitation or multiple solicitations are posted in the future, they will be issued by a separate solicitation.
The Government reserves the right to follow up on a one-on-one basis with RFI respondents to gain additional information or clarity about information submitted.
