Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Complete Streets Corridor Study – Aramingo Avenue TCDI proposal will study one mile of Aramingo Avenue from Castor Avenue to Allegheny Avenue. This Project aims to identify opportunities to demonstrate and advance complete street improvements. The study will evaluate intersection improvements, transit travel times, signal coordination, signal timing modifications, multimodal access, safety, and connectivity. The project will advance the Multimodal Transportation goals identified in Connections2050, which aims to reduce traffic injuries and serious fatalities and integrate transportation modes through network connections and multimodal strategies that expand access to opportunity for everyone. Implementing complete streets treatments on this corridor will enhance the overall communities’ appearance and promote walking and biking. Making the Aramingo Corridor safer will help all ages move around and through the neighborhoods to access essential neighborhood services such as public transportation, health services, and commercial corridors. As noted above, Aramingo Avenue is on the City’s High Injury Network. The project will incorporate Vision Zero principles to decrease the number of traffic deaths. The steering committee will include representatives from implementing city agencies and the public.
