1.0 SCOPE OF WORK This Specification outlines the requirements for equipping and installing one (1) power sliding door kit on each of three (3) Pittsburgh Regional Transit passenger vans. The contract duration will be three months from the date of PRT’s Notice to Proceed. 2.0 TECHNICAL DATA 2.1 Passenger Van Make and Model One power sliding passenger door kit shall be installed on each of three (3) 2023 model year Fort Transit 350 passenger vans. The PRT unit numbers for the vans are units 990, 991 and 992. 2.2 General Requirements: 2.2.1 Bids shall include the full price per unit for all parts, equipment, installation and labor to make the power sliding door fully functional. 2.2.2 The installer shall equip each van with a dash button that remotely activates (opens and closes) the power sliding door. 2.2.3 The power sliding door on each van shall also be remotely activated by a key fob. Two key fobs programmed to operate the power door shall be provided for each van. 2.2.4 The modified sliding passenger door shall continue to be capable of being opened and closed manually. 2.2.5 The power door mechanism shall not be able to be activated or operated while the van is in gear (drive or reverse). 2.2.6 The power door mechanism shall sense resistance when closing (such as contacting an obstacle or a person entering or exiting the van while the door is in operation) and shall automatically stop and reverse the door’s motion to the fully open position when the door’s closing is impeded. 2.2.7 Shipping and handling of all parts and equipment to the installer shall be included in the bid price entered per unit.
