The training department develops and delivers learning and staff development opportunities to 300+ diverse employees serving Juvenile Justice Services (JJS), a division housed by the Department of Human Services (DHS). Reporting directly to the department’s Training & Development Manager, the Adjunct Juvenile Justice Services Trainer collaboratively designs and develops small- to mid-size learning experiences as assigned. They deploy curricular development and instructional design best practices to support the delivery of a comprehensive portfolio centered on advancing organizational goals via in-person, digital, and hybrid learning formats. They also facilitate training experiences for diverse audiences within both JJS and DHS more broadly. Included in the service proposal should be a plan to: 1. Development: Assists in designing and developing brand new small- to mid-size learning experiences and related training materials based on needs analysis, research, and assessment findings; revises existing curricula and training materials based on evaluation, analyses, consultation findings, best practices, and/or stakeholder input with the goals of improving outcomes and alignment with organization and department objectives 2. Research: Conducts independent and collaborative research related to new and existing training and staff development initiatives; synthesizes research findings to propose training solutions and inform instructional design 3. Digital Training: Designs digital training experiences and materials, translates instructorled training into online learning experiences, and uploads and organizes training content in a learning management system 4. Facilitation: Becomes familiar with curricula and learning experiences in the department’s training portfolio as assigned and facilitates these trainings for diverse audiences; receives and maintains all certifications related to training facilitation needs 5. Collaboration: Collaborates with departmental staff to support and deliver related training initiatives
