Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Philadelphia Water Department’s Load Control Unit monitors and operatesthe water transmission system with the use of a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. This system operates on a closed Local Area Network (LAN) that only allows those with a specialized terminal at the 29th & Cambria complex monitor the system. Load Control purchased a separate human machine interface (HMI) software to allow more engineers within Operation’s pull data and monitor the system anywhere on the City’s Wide Area Network (WAN). This software, ignition, was purchased from Inductive Automation in 2017 and requires an annual renewal to allow us to receive updates to the software and 24/7 phone support. This support is only offered by Inductive Automation as it is their proprietary software, and therefore a sole purchase is required.
