This project is for the construction of the Delaware & Lehigh (D&L) Rail Trail: Oliver Mills to Mountain Top Section in FAIRVIEW, HANOVER TOWNSHIPS AND LAUREL RUN BOROUGH, LUZERNE COUNTY in the COMMONWEALTH of PENNSYLVANIA. The project is a linear 4.532 mile multi-use trail project aligned on the former Lehigh Valley Railroad (LVRR) right-of-way (D&L) owned by the Anthracite Scenic Trail Association. This trail section begins near the intersection of SR 437 (Woodland Avenue) and T-462 (Lehigh Street) in Fairview Township and continues to a point 4.5 miles to the north near SR 2007 (Laurel Run Road) in Laurel Run Borough. The proposed trail will have a 10-foot-wide crushed stone cross section with 2 - foot underground stormwater trench on the left side, limited other drainage work, installation of signage/trail displays and wooden fencing. The project will also include minor brush/branch clearing with minimal tree removal.
