The School District of Philadelphia is the 8th largest school district in the nation. The School District consists of over 200 schools, 30 million square feet of building space, and over 105,000 students. The purpose of this RFQ is to qualify vendors and suppliers of furniture, fixtures and equipment for the use of The School District of Philadelphia. The Scope of this RFP is to qualify vendors for the purchase of furniture, fixtures, and equipment for buildings and facilities of the School District of Philadelphia (SDP) during the contract period. The School District of Philadelphia is seeking qualification from entities to establish a “pool” of qualified manufacturers/ vendors / suppliers of furniture, fixtures, equipment, installation, and design services to provide as-needed for the School District of Philadelphia. The School District is seeking quality furnishings that are durable, easily maintained, functional, visually and acoustically pleasing, and are comfortable for students, staff, and visitors. Vendors will be qualified based on experience, product catalog, capacity, and delivery and installation infrastructure. The term of authorization for all pre-qualified vendors will be on a yearly basis following the district's fiscal year. We are looking for furniture, fixtures, and equipment for administrative offices, dining spaces, event spaces, laboratories, storage spaces, STEAM classrooms, and traditional classrooms. All products must be in compliance with the Philadelphia Fire Code. All products must be certified for low chemical emissions, including ones that are GreenGuard and/or BIFMA certified, and CPSIA compliant. Surfaces of desks, conference tables, benches, cabinets, and any other contact surfaces should be high quality, hypoallergenic, and scratch resistant. Life expectancy will vary based on high vs. low traffic. We require that suppliers have all furniture, fixtures, and equipment delivered and installed on the premises, commonly referred to as “white glove” service. All responses must specify any delivery and installation costs. All installed furniture must be fully functional upon the completion of the installation. All items required for installation must be included in the bid price for the item. Installation of furniture must be coordinated with on-going construction needs and timelines. All furniture, fixtures and equipment must be in compliance with Chapter 8 of the Philadelphia Fire Code, Interior Finish, Decorative Materials and Furnishings. All furniture items shall be new and guaranteed for materials and workmanship. All responses should indicate the warranty information for each item offered in the response.
