SMOKE DETECTOR SENSITIVITY TESTING 1. Smoke Detector Sensitivity testing will be performed in accordance with NFPA guidelines, using manufacturer’s recommended test methods and a UL approved testing device. 2. Provide an analysis of the test results along with recommendations for detectors that require either cleaning or replacement. 1.3 SMOKE CONTROL AND FIRE DAMPER TESTING AND CERTIFICATION INSPECTION 1. Perform annual testing and inspection of fire, smoke and combination fire/smoke dampers following procedures indicated by NFPA and the City of Philadelphia. 2. Testing and inspection shall include all dampers location within the facility over the five (5) year term of the contract. 100% damper testing and inspection is due in 2026. 3. All work to be performed in accordance with The City of Philadelphia Building Construction and Occupancy Code, Title 4, Chapter 7, Section 703 and referenced sections of the International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, International Fire Code, and NFPA. 4. Technicians performing testing of smoke and fire dampers shall hold a Fire Life Safety Level 1 or Level 2 certification from the Sheet Metal Industry International Certification Board or a similar certification from an independent personal certification program approved by the City of Philadelphia. 5. Submit Deficiency Report to Owner for correction of any deficiencies prior to filing Final Reports to the City of Philadelphia. The Owner shall have up to 90 days to correct deficiencies prior to submission of filing of Final Reports. 6. Submit Damper Certification Report to Department of Licenses and Inspections, City of Philadelphia via the eCLIPSE portal.
