Specifications include, but are not limited to:This service will be for a period of one (1) year with four (4) options to renew, upon mutual consent, each for a one (1) year period. A 2% price increase shall be applied to each renewal period. The Department of Transportation, hereto referred as the Department, reserves the right, upon notice to the contractor, to extend the term of the purchase order for up to ninety (90) days upon the same terms and conditions. This will be utilized to prevent a lapse in service coverage and only for the time necessary, up to ninety (90) days, to enter into a new purchase order. The Department reserves the right to award any or all of the bid items. All quantities and items are estimates. Prior to the start of any work, the contractor shall provide the Department with the business phone, cell phone, fax and e-mail of the contractor’s representative(s) who will be responsible for all contract related matters including but not limited to scheduling, billing and personnel. Upon the contractor’s arrival at the rest area, the contractor is required to sign the attendant’s daily log book located in the attendant’s office documenting time of arrival. Upon departure from the rest area, the contractor is responsible for documentation of the repairs completed during the service visit. The Welcome center is open to the public from 9am to 6pm 7 days a week excluding selected holidays. The Rest Room facilities are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. All maintenance and repairs shall be performed with this in mind. For the purposes of the work “regular business hours” shall be defined as Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 4:00, and holidays shall be defined as New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Contact shall be made with the District Roadside Specialist or designee 24 hours in advance of regularly scheduled service visits to ensure there will be no conflicts. An approved contact list and phone numbers will be provided to the awarded contractor prior to the start of any work. Description of Work: Generator Service shall consist of regular scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled on call repair as needed to the Power Generation System and two automatic transfer switches (ATS). At each visit, the contractor shall include in his report any upgrades or improvements that could benefit the system.
