The District is soliciting proposals from design professionals for the Legacy Park playground and infrastructure renovations at the Jenkintown Elementary School. The existing playground requires replacement. The District has asked the LPCC to come forward with a recommendation for a fully accessible, inclusive playground space as well as a flexible usable playing field and other amenities. The District has a lease with the Borough of Jenkintown through which the District keeps the playground open for community use when school is not in session. The District seeks an experienced and qualified design professional and engineer with the ability: 1. To evaluate the design provided by the LPCC included as part of an attachment to this RFP; 2. To evaluate the accessibility and feasibility of the playground equipment design provided by a third party (Play by Design); 3. To prepare, obtain all necessary review and approval for, and finalize the drainage & grading design; 4. To develop a complete set of bidding documents, oversee the procurement process, make recommendations regarding contract award, and administer the construction; 5. To ensure final completion and closeout of any and all applicable permits and turnover of all Operation and Maintenance manuals and warranties. The District anticipates the work being performed in several phases with Phase II and Phase III services conditioned upon Board authorization to commence Phase II and Phase III services.
