Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Philadelphia Water Department (Department) is seeking proposals from qualified Applicants to design green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) in the urban environment including on streets, parking lots, schools, parks and recreation properties, and other locations identified by the Department. GSI manages stormwater using one or more of the source control processes of infiltration, evaporation, transpiration, decentralized storage, alternative stormwater routing, reuse, and other methods. This RFP is not for a specific site but for sites that will be identified after the successful Applicants have been awarded a contract. The purpose of this project is to design GSI projects in the urban environment including on streets, parking lots, schools, parks and recreation properties, and other locations identified by the Department and to prepare construction ready documents. Applicants should demonstrate that they have experience designing GSI in the urban environment for the Department and/or other clients on a similar scale and capacity. Applicants must demonstrate they have provided design services as the prime contractor for at least five (5) GSI projects including at least two (2) GSI projects in the City of Philadelphia. Applicants should emphasize whether their experience qualifies them to design GSI on a variety of property types (e.g. streets, schools, parks, etc) or if they have particular experience or strength in designing GSI for a specific type of property. Also, Applicants must have technical expertise and be professionally licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where applicable, in the following areas: Green Stormwater Infrastructure Landscape Architecture Water Resources Engineering Stormwater Design Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling Transportation and Traffic Engineering Geotechnical Engineering including geotechnical field testing Civil Site Design Graphic Design Urban Design Philadelphia Stormwater Regulations Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering
