Luzerne County is seeking proposals from qualified and professionally trained armed security guard services to ensure the safety and security of the Bernard C. Brominski Building located at 113 North Street Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711 and Courthouse Annex located at153 North River Street Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711. Security services are required at the following times: • Bernard C. Brominski Building: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM • Courthouse Annex: Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM Services will not be provided on holidays. The Contractor shall assign one (1) Security Guard to the Bernard C. Brominski Building and one (1) Security Guard to the Courthouse Annex. The Guards shall be trained and proficient in the operation of security screening equipment, including x-ray machines, magnetometers, and hand-held wands, to ensure thorough and effective screening of individuals entering the facility. All necessary screening equipment will be provided by Luzerne County. The primary responsibilities of the Guards include deterring, detecting, and preventing the entry of weapons and contraband into the facilities above. Specific duties include: a. Conducting thorough screenings of all persons and bags entering the facility. b. Maintaining a professional demeanor and exhibiting diligence and vigilance at all times. c. Responding promptly and appropriately to any security issues or incidents that may arise, if possible. Guards post shall never be abandoned. The Contractor shall possess all required licenses and certifications for armed security services.
