The Avonworth Historical Society invites written bids from qualified contractors to serve as the Prime Contractor for the renovation of 7119 Church Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15202.This project will transform the building into the Society’s new headquarters and create a publicly accessible space for research, educational lectures, and community events. The project involves getting the building up to compliance with building codes, interior space ADA compliance, and providing for safe occupancy. It will encompass planning, design, and construction for renovation of the first floor, electrical rewiring, and waterproofing of the basement. First floor renovations will include new flooring, new drywall and insulation, the addition of two bathrooms (one ADA accessible) to meet an occupancy permit of 50, a small kitchenette, slop cupboard with utility sink (required by code), safety systems, and the restoration of the tin ceiling.
