ASBESTOS AIR MONITORING A. The Monitoring Professional shall sample the air for background airborne asbestos fiber concentrations and during the performance of the abatement work in accordance with AHERA regulations. B. Daily and background environmental air samples - shall be analyzed via Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM). All samples shall be analyzed by a certified laboratory. C. Work area clearance air samples – shall be analyzed by either PCM or Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), depending on removal quantities in accordance with AHERA regulations. All samples shall be analyzed by a certified laboratory. B. The number of samples that are required and the specific locations will be established by the Environmental Consultant, and Air Monitoring Professional. 1.8 POLYCHLORINATED BIPHYNEL (PCB) AIR MONITORING A. The Monitoring Professional shall periodically perform monitoring for airborne PCB’s during the performance of the PCB abatement work. Monitoring shall also include the collection of background air samples.
