Specifications include, but are not limited to: PAVEMENT REMOVAL Description This work shall consist of the removal of roadway surface paving down to the existing base course within the limits shown ; The Contractor shall remove and dispose of the existing surface paving. All areas shall be cleaned immediately after completion of the work. All protruding manholes or structures and vertical joints shall be left in a safe manner for vehicular and/or pedestrian traffic by the use of bituminous binder of other suitable material. ; REMOVE AND SEAL MANHOLE, ANY SIZE OR TYPE - The Contractor shall remove the frame and cover, clean the interior, and demolish the structure. The area shall then be backfilled with clean earth fill, placed and tamped in (6) six inch lifts. ; VEHICLE TOWING- 1. Contractor shall call Traffic Engineering for permission to post the signs on specific streets at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to need for daytime street work. 2. Contractor shall post signs that will show the dates and hours the Contractor will be working forty-eight (48) hours prior to commencement of work. The contractor shall exercise care in not overstating dates and hours to be worked. ; SUPERPAVE BINDER COURSE, PG 64-22, VARIABLE DEPTH, TYPE A - Binder Course Mixture: 9.5 mm Mix, WMA ESAL range: Type A: <0.3 million Tack Coat: In accordance with Section 460.2 of PDT 408 Note: The binder course mixture can be changed to a 19 mm mix when warranted and directed by the Engineer.
