Shelter Service Program Expectations: i. Use a low barrier approach to providing shelter to the maximum extent possible; ii. Provide a welcoming greeting to all guests; iii. Complete Coordinated Entry Assessment and support progress toward permanent housing in collaboration with Coordinated Entry partners; iv. Shelter programs in Washington County are intended to be short-term and housing-focused as providers work to assist participants in moving out of shelter and into permanent housing solutions as quickly as possible. While there is no fixed limit on the length of stay, households must demonstrate a reasonable level of engagement in services that will support a successful exit, considering the nature of their barriers to obtaining permanent housing and the availability of services to address those barriers. v. Offer upfront diversion services and additional community resources for families whose housing and relocation needs can be met with minimal financial assistance; vi.
