Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Types of waste pickup include: 1) Composting - food waste and yard debris 2) Recycling - glass containers, mixed (paper, metal, plastic), scrap metal, construction and demolition debris 3) Garbage – landfill bound municipal solid waste B. Complete an initial and ongoing assessment of waste container needs and pickup frequency for all serviced campuses and centers to ensure maximum efficiency; containers that are regularly less than ¾ full shall be reported to PSU’s Waste Management Coordinator and a plan for right-sizing the container or adjusting service frequencies shall be established C. Provide emergency pick-up service for any materials requested by PSU within 24 hours D. Clean up any materials spilled on grounds during the collection and transfer process E. Provide support to PSU staff regarding any desired alterations to the service operations F. Communicate any disruptions or changes to service (e.g. missed pick-ups, blocked containers, etc.) in a timely manner to the PSU Waste Management Coordinator G. Proactively monitor markets for new waste reduction opportunities and best practices in waste reduction and diversion
