Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. SIT - Construct Stationary Infantry Target (SIT) emplacements in general conformance with dimensions shown in Attachment 4 – Stationary Infantry Target, Sheet ID ‘SIT’, detail called out as Surface / Fill Emplacement. Noting the following exceptions and clarifications: 1) Clear vegetation and obstacles from target emplacement locations, plus 3-feet from tow of slope on front and sides, and 3-feet in addition to clear space requirements at rear of target emplacement. 2) Base layer to be minimum of 8” Coarse Aggregate, adjust base thickness as necessary to achieve desired results and positive drainage. 3) Do not provide concrete pad. Aggregate Base layer will be the floor of coffin. 4) In lieu of precast concrete coffin, construct retaining wall (coffin) with treated timbers such as Crossties, or approved equal. Pin timbers together with ½-inch reinforcing rod as necessary to create solid unyielding wall. 5) Retaining wall height at front shall be minimum of 1’-6” to maximum 2’-0”. 6) Construct berm using Fine Aggregate. 7) Berm height as shown in front of retaining wall. 8) Berm width (across front retaining wall) to be 8-feet 9) Berm depth (in direction of fire) to be 6-feet 10) Berm dimensions are from top of slope (3:1) 11) Clears space behind front retaining wall to be 7’-6” minimum B. W-SIT - Construct Widened Stationary Infantry Target (W-SIT) emplacements in general conformance with dimensions shown in Attachment 4 – Stationary Infantry Target, Sheet ID ‘W-SIT’, detail called out as Surface / Fill Emplacement.
