Specifications include, but are not limited to: In accordance with Oregons Opportunity To Recycle requirements, Lane Countys Waste Management Division provides a comprehensive infrastructure to facilitate and maximize citizens opportunity to reduce, reuse and recycle their solid waste before they dispose of it. It is not enough, however, that such systems are merely available. The public and community in Lane County must be informed that the opportunity exist, must be informed of why using these opportunities is important, and must be instructed how to access and utilize them correctly. Further, citizens of Lane County must be informed of the priority placement of reducing and reusing over recycling as individual and civic actions that result in protecting health and welfare of both the individual and the community at large. To that end, Lane County seeks a Contractor who will develop and deliver a community education program that conveys the priority of waste prevention and reuse over recycling or disposal and motivates individuals to participate accordingly, while also providing accurate information and instruction about recycling opportunities available to them throughout the community.
