EWEB is seeking a qualified contractor to provide a thorough corrosion survey of water transmission pipelines currently in service. The transmission pipelines are composed of approximately 29,100-feet of 45-inch pipe and 18,250-feet of 60-inch welded steel pipe. Both the 60-inch and the 45-inch are integral to the overall supply of the water system. The corrosion survey results should identify locations where corrosion potential is high and corrosion is occurring. Also, to identify and investigate these areas in greater detail (using Direct Assessment) in a cost-effective manner. The proposed corrosion survey and direct assessment work should generally include the following: • Pre-assessment – Review and compile all relevant historical information, including: o Pipeline Composition o Interconnection of Dissimilar Pipe Materials o Joint Type o Electrical Continuity o Location of Electrical Isolation Devices o Backfill and Bedding Materials o Plan and Profile Drawings o Construction Reports...
