Specifications include, but are not limited to: • an evaluation of economic conditions and the distinct role particular areas provide in supporting the region’s economy and responding to economic disruptions using the Economic Value Atlas and other evaluative tools, • a framework for more intentional planning and land management in support of the region’s future economy that provides a typology referencing the unique role of different employment areas, • an inventory of current policies/programs and data/forecast methods, • a series of discussion papers and focus groups that assess relevant economic disruptions and current and future implications within the region (e.g., automation, micro-scale manufacturing, gig/sharing economy), building on findings in The Brookings Institution Market Scan, • test cases that include site level assessments and action plans for catalytic sites or focus areas that respond to existing conditions and identified disruptions, and • a set of recommendations for addressing policies/zoning, land development, investment criteria, and data/forecast based on assessment of trends and test cases.
