PRESCHOOL FOR ALL REQUIREMENTS PFA Sites must provide inclusive, culturally responsive preschool experiences for 3- and 4-year-olds. Providers need to build strong relationships with all PFA families at their site. Providers work closely with PEL to offer input on program guidelines and processes. Black, Brown, Native American Indigenous, and Providers of Color are highly encouraged to apply. Families have shared the importance of providers who reflect their culture and language. PFA is committed to having a diverse set of providers who look and sound like the children and families enrolled in the program. Provider Experience PFA Providers must have at least three years of experience operating preschool services by September 1, 2026. This experience must be at a licensed child care facility or legally exempt site. Experience in operations or management in child care and early learning for children 0 to 5 years count toward this requirement. Preschool services include child care, early learning classrooms, and/or family child care. Facility Readiness New classrooms or facilities not yet open, must have a license or temporary license from the Office of Child Care by February 16, 2026. Providers must submit a copy of the license by February 16, 2026. Licensing a site can take up to six weeks. We encourage providers to start this process as soon as possible.
