A. As requested by FRS, Parent Educators shall be available to teach (individually or co-teach) the following curriculums: “Parents Helping Children Cope with Family Change” for parents enrolled in the Parent Education program. If a curriculum change is needed, specific curriculum used for parent education classes shall be determined by Department of Community Justice staff. B. Parent Educators shall assist FRS program staff with managing and maintaining a class environment conducive to learning and gaining applicable and beneficial co-parenting skills. C. Parent Educators shall be present in the virtual classroom at least 30 minutes prior to class starting and shall remain until all parents have departed from the virtual classroom. D. If possible, Parent Educators shall notify FRS staff no less than seven (7) days prior to their scheduled parent education class if they are unable to attend/teach. For unexpected absences, Educators should notify FRS staff as soon as possible. Notification should happen by emailing the shared inbox. Description E. FRS staff shall notify CONTRACTOR three (3) months in advance to inform them of the class schedule and confirm their availability to teach. F. Parent Educators shall attend twice yearly meetings for the purposes of program review and/or development, training in material related to delivering parent education, address general service delivery issues and/or resolve any operational problems. G. Parent Educators are independent contractors. Staff from the Department of Community Justice (DCJ) shall attend all classes to monitor performance. Parent educators should report all issues and/or concerns regarding these classes directly to DCJ.
