Technical Specifications: Design must be SEO-friendly and should assume the use of HTML text (as opposed to graphical text). Design should adhere to HTML5/CSS3. Design should contain all tools required to maintain it. Site may require safe sections in which non-web-coders may post updates and images on a blog model. The selected Contractor(s) will be required to work with the OBI Webmaster and Coummications Director in the production phase to work within certain specifications pertaining to the designated content management system. Design should consider long-term updates and additions to the site, such as new navigation or ongoing changes to home or section home pages, which will be maintained by client. Site should conform to principles of Responsive Design as set forth, for instance, at http://www.alistapart.com/articles/responsive-web-design/ Site should be designed for appropriate use from a smart-phone, tablet, laptop and desktop computer. The largest assumed typical user screen is 1024 X 768. Design should function on the latest releases of Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Internet Explorer. In addition, it should devolve gracefully on older browsers. Flash should be avoided for optimal mobile device compatibility. Design must meet UO Web standards (availble at webcom.uoregon.edu/webstandards, especially standards on web accessibility, http://webcom.uoregon.edu/Accessibility). Site must be designed to be accessible to users with disabilities. University follows the WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility design standard. A summary of which may be found at: http://www.communications.uoregon.edu/accessibility. Contractor will provide two opportunities for an accessibility evaluation prior to roll out. Design must meet Lundquist School of Business (LCB) Web standards (a style guide will be provided). University will provide graphical files (images, logos, etc.) as needed. However, Contractor should have the ability to construct graphical content as required. Final files must be in layered PSD format.
