A. Contractor shall provide the following landscape maintenance services (the “Scheduled Services”) every two weeks throughout the year at SAIF’s North Bend office, located at 3090 Broadway, North Bend, Oregon: 1. fertilize ornamental plants and ground covers, using an organic shrub fertilizer formulated with trace elements, in order to maintain plants and ground cover in a healthy and vigorous condition (note: fertilizer costs are included in the monthly fee for Scheduled Services); 2. control weeds in all planting areas, using hand weeding techniques when necessary, and chemical pesticides when alternative methods are not viable (note: herbicide costs are included in the monthly fee for Scheduled Services); 3. rake bed surface areas as needed to maintain a fresh appearance and remove foreign materials; 4. remove leaves and debris from planter beds, and walkways throughout the year as needed to maintain a clean appearance; 5. blow parking lot, sidewalks, and curbs at each visit, using care to avoid depositing dust or debris in or on vehicles, open windows, or doors; and keep paving joints, curbs, and sidewalk cracks free of live weeds, grasses, and mosses; 6. perform periodic inspections of bedding areas to determine need for addition of ground bark and other mulch (note: addition of ground bark or mulch is not included in the monthly fee for Scheduled Services and must be pre-approved by SAIF’s Facilities Services Supervisor); 7. edge all ground cover to keep in bounds and trim top growth as necessary to achieve an overall even appearance; and 8. prune all ornamental shrubs and bushes in accordance with the intended function of the plant, removing all dead, damaged, or diseased portions of plantings.
