The City of Newport is requesting proposals from qualified engineering consulting firms to provide professional services for the Northside Influent/Effluent Pump Station Improvements Project (City Project No. 26-24017). This project includes the design and preparation of two small bid-ready packages for targeted upgrades at the City’s former wastewater treatment plant, now operating as a major pump station for both influent and treated effluent flows. The first package will address the installation of a ventilation and odor control system. While a legacy ventilation system remains from the site’s former use as a treatment plant, it was never activated or integrated when the site was converted to a pump station. The consultant will evaluate existing infrastructure (e.g., ductwork, pads, and available electrical systems) and design a replacement or retrofit solution using these components where feasible. The final system must meet current standards, provide for a safe working environment, and be appropriate for the site’s location in a residential and tourist-serving area. The second package will include a minimal technical bid set for installation of a mechanical conveyor to move screenings and grit from the headworks area to a roll-off bin. Deliverables will include concise technical specifications and detail sheets suitable for public bidding.
