Project Team. The successful would be expected to convene a project team consisting of a project lead (“Project Lead”) and a panel of language advisors (“Language Panel”). The Language Panel would be expected to: 2.1.1.1. Consist of a minimum of five (5) members representative of the local Alaska Native language community, including at least one (1) Alaska Native community elder with fluency in the focal Alaska Native language, one (1) member with formal linguistics knowledge; for example, knowledge of the international phonetic alphabet or phonemic mapping of the language or experience with the morphological structure of the language, and one (1) member with teaching experience. 2.1.1.2. Review component skill measures (as detailed in 2.1.2., below) for appropriateness of content (e.g., strings of phonemes or words do not cause confusion). 2.1.1.3. Review passages (see 2.1.3., below) for grade-level suitability and linguistic accuracy. 2.1.1.4. Choose the six (6) best passages per grade level for piloting. 2.1.1.5. Note where known dialectical variations exist for all measures (e.g., additional phonemes, alternative vocabulary).
