Specifications include, but are not limited to: The ODOE is asking interested parties to submit a proposal that details a development and implementation strategy focused on "public education and outreach". The initial project focus will be the Christmas Valley area. The primary purpose of the Christmas Valley project is to complement the Governor's 10- Year Energy Action Plan goals and (1) reduce our dependence on carbon-intensive fuels and foreign oil, (2) develop home-grown renewable energy resources and (3) boost Oregon's economy through investment and innovation. The ODOE outreach program should keep the following objectives in mind: 1. Share Oregon's energy goals: to reduce consumption, build in efficiency and become energy independent. 2. Help community members understand how their local resources fit into Oregon's renewable energy picture. 3. Gather community feedback through two-way communications and research methods to increase consensus. 4. Obtain commitment from the community and opinion leaders who can serve as renewable energy ambassadors.
