Specifications include, but are not limited to: 56.1 The hydroseeding process is used for slope stabilization and to replace vegetation removed during road maintenance activities performed by County road crews. Maintenance projects include ditching, culvert replacement and site clearance and for slope stabilization. The seed, mulch, tackifier, and fertilizer are sprayed from equipment specifically designed for this work. 56.2 Permanent seeding is typically required at least twice per year (spring and fall). A list of roads requiring hydroseed application throughout rural Washington County will be provided each spring and fall. Typically, ten to fifteen roads are included in each list, requiring five to ten days of application to complete the work. The locations requiring mobilization will vary. 56.3 Mobilization for Flexible Growth Medium application and seeding is variable and in response to landslides and other slope stability issues.
