DEQ requires approximately 185 employees to attend hands-on portable fire extinguisher training on an annual basis. The contractor shall provide both classroom and hands-on portable fire extinguisher training that meets the requirements of the Oregon State Fire Marshall (OSFM) and Oregon’s Occupational, Safety, and Health Administration (OROSHA). The hands-on portable fire extinguisher training shall include, but not be limited to, live hands-on demonstrations, video training, handouts, equipment, supplies, and certificates for all participants. The Contractor shall use one of the following hands-on methods to simulate extinguishing class A, B, and C fires: • A propane-based appliance that produces flame and replicates a real-life fire scenario; or • A fire extinguisher training simulator.
